Reviews: I enjoyed reading this very much, there were alot of details of the story that I had forgotten so this was a nice refresher. What I didn’t agree with was why Jacob was blessed so much over Esau when he tricked and manipulated him to the max. Also why are these women letting their men sleep with their servants? And why would God bless that? It didn’t make sense to me but I’m not God obviously lol. Garret and Lauren, Amazon, 5 stars Good devotional/ study material. This wasn't really what I was expecting when I started reading this book. Has many reflection & applications where you can apply what you've read to life. Over all good book. Kalia, Amazon, 4 star. This book talks about the life of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. They each had many wives and children. I love these bible stories. April Philip, Amazon, 5 stars Dr. Koh does a fantastic job of bringing the Genesis narrative to life by focusing honestly on Jacob's flaws, family struggles, and ultimate transformation. I really appreciated how the sections detailing Jacob’s early deceptions and his monumental late-night wrestling match with God are paired with highly relatable, modern applications. The thoughtful reflections included throughout the chapters make this feel like an encouraging personal devotional rather than a dense academic commentary. It’s an uplifting, easy-to-read study guide that will genuinely challenge you to examine your own spiritual journey. David R Groscop, Amazon, 5 stars. This is a great religious educational piece of literature. The layout of scripture and then reflection was great for better understanding in more depth what the verses were saying and meaning. I’m always looking for Bible study tools, and I think this is a great one to add to the collection. Meagan, Amazon, 5 stars I enjoyed reading Jacob’s story. It portrays character and life lessons, to one who has forgotten and can be made righteous again. Melissa, Amazon, 4 stars. Interesting and enjoyable. Like having a Sunday school lesson at home. Jacob learning the hard way to trust the Lord. I like that the scripture was shown in the book and the life of Jacob was navigated by the Lord. The book was easy to understand. Betsy, Amazon, 5 stars From Deceiver to Destiny: Jacob’s Story is an eye-opening piece of writing, whether you are familiar with Jacob’s story or not.Looking at this story through a different lens, and seeing how it can link to our modern daily lives, causes the reader to really reflect on their personal life, and ask question such as how they worship and trust God, as well as so many other things. Kelly White, Amazon, 4 stars A great value book for anyone looking for a deeper relationship with God, personal clarity, and a new sense of direction. This book goes right to the heart of what many avoid: the ease with which we can live deceived, distracted and disconnected from our true purpose. It reveals the miracle of how God works in our lives when we decide to serve Him and go to Him with our flaws. It's definitely an inspiring book to reflect deeply. It not only exposes but pushes you to examine where you are mentally and spiritually.Nashali, Amazon, 5 stars. One of the best, detailed studies into the life of Jacob in Genesis. Robin B, Amazon, 5 stars. This author is one of ny favorites. With his ability to dumb down scripture and apply it to every day life, it brings the Biblical truths to fruition. Making it easy to understand and apply towards life. It brings Biblical application to the younger generation. Tiffany Townsend, Amazon, 5 stars. A further look into Jacob's story. More in-depth reflection and information. An easy to read study that keeps you engaged, Margarita Bailey, Goodreads, 5 stars. This is exactly what it says--Jacob's story in the Bible. And as usual I found it to be a great companion to my praying the Bible. It's a wonderful study guide and has some lovely little gems. I always enjoy these books by Dr Koh, because he's always helping me think and giving me new and different perspectives. I love that in any devotional or Bible study. It's important to think through what you believe and why and to understand what you believe and why, and these always challenge me! So good! Jenniefer Surdam, Bookbub, 5 stars.
