Dr. Koh treats the short book with respect while providing background information and practical ways to apply its concepts in a Christian's daily life. One sentence spoke truth to my heart: "Things happened for you and not to you." That confirmed a recent struggle in my life. BW. Amazon ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Another gem in this short but meaningful study on Philemon. Philemon is Paul's letter showing us how to embody gospel truths in how we think and treat one another. Dr. Koh does a phenomenal job helping us see this and giving us practical steps to live it out. For example, he explores how Paul sends Onesimus back to his master, and draws a parallel to how we might be running from the Lord in our own lives, and how we can return to Him in repentance, just as Onesimus returned to Philemon, his earthly master.Great work, Dr. Koh! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This is more of a guided devotional rather than a commentary, and as far as that goes I'd say that Dr. Koh did a good job. He leads us in prayer before and after each chapter, gives us the Scripture at hand, gives us brief reflections and applications, and presents correlating passages from elsewhere in the Bible. He keeps the teaching focused on foundational Gospel truths. Additionally, the section giving the I would definitely recommend this book.
